Perfect Drift Sport Fishing expects to start sailing by April; beginning with Winter Flounder fishing on Barnegat Bay, The Flounder will start biting in back waters like Oyster Creek. Fishing along the muddy bottom is one trick. The end of April is the time to start trolling pony tails for bluefish that invade the bay. The speedsters can arrive as early as April 20, but the run should really kick in around May 1. Big Weakfish also enter the, arriving with the blues, and the Weak Fish will also slam the pony tails or can be hooked on soft baits like Fin-S Fish, BKD’s. Fishing for big striped bass that chase schools of bunker that migrate to local waters typically begins around Memorial Day and really takes off in June. The fishing was great last spring, and we hope for a repeat. Smaller, resident bass are probably already willing to strike at places like Oyster Creek, and a few can probably be coaxed to chew in the Barnegat Bay. Surely resident Stripers are also hovering around the jetties. Fluke fishing with will May 23rd the season opener fishing for Fluke from the bay to the ocean is a specialty on The Perfect Drift all summer long.

Hope your all keeping warm this winter!
I just wanted to let everyone know that we are now booking for the 2009 season!
We will be running Winter Flounder trips to start the season off. Then we will switch to Strip Bass fishing and Barnegat Bay Bluefish. Fluke fishing will start in May.
If you have a date that you would like to fish...NOW is the time to book!
The new Fluke Regulations where set on March 5th. The 2009 season will kick off on May 23rd and run till Sept 4th. The bag limit will be 6 fish @18 inches
